Design
A MikroTik Chateau wall mount did not exist so I created one with these requirements:
- It should be strong
- It should securely attach to the unit
- Space behind to use all the ports
- Cables can exit directly up, down, left or right
The design is based on a Chateau AX 5G. I have been unable to test on other Chateau devices, despite the fact they look the same consider this a disclaimer in case it does not fit, but please let us know in the comments about other models!
The bevel around the base is perfect to utilise for a mount, so the base of the unit was scanned with a few passes, the meshes aligned in Meshlab, and imported into Sketchup to design the mount.
Useful Information
There is 6 cm of clearance behind the unit so cables can be safely used in all ports - it is worth estimating if you think this is enough just in case however as some external antenna cables have long connectors.
The sides are strong enough to be used without the central bracket, which is useful if you need to swap SIM cards a lot. However if you do not it is recommended for extra strength.
Printing
This part has tight tolerances for a snug fit. All parts are designed to be easily printable without supports. I used PLA, which is working well.
This was printed using the 0.2mm layer height "Strength" profile in Bambu Studio, which is basically a preset designed to be stronger than standard prints. This makes the mount very strong, it felt safe enough to to mount on the wall at any orientation, even upside down!
Assembly & Mounting
Four Ruthex M3x5.7 inserts must be fitted into the holes if using the central bracket. Please be very careful as these inserts are close to the outer edges of the unit and also the inner edge, place them in straight, slowly and carefully!
Four M3x8 screws and washers should be used for attaching the central bracket to the other parts after they have been attached to the Chateau. The router and bracket are then mounted together on the wall.
The holes for attaching the bracket to the wall are 6mm wide. Please use washers to spread the load of whatever screws you use.
