This thing is a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B case for a few different hats, and also provides options for no hats.

Currently provided are lids supporting:

  • Adafruit DC & Stepper Motor hat (i.e. adafruit product ID 2348)
  • No hat, with no ports exposed
  • No hat, with upper ports exposed
  • Respeaker 4-Mic Linear Array Kit hat

Coming soon:

  • Respeaker 2-Mics Pi Hat Kit

This case is made so that the where hats are supported, they are carefully fitted into the lid with no screws. The Raspberry Pi is screwed into the base. The lid is then placed on the top, and attached to the base with screws.

Required for assembly:

  • 4x M2 x 8 screws and nuts - for mounting the pi to the base
  • 8x M2 washers
  • 4x M3 x 16 screws, nuts - for mounting the lid to the base
  • 8x M3 washers

Adafruit DC & Stepper Motor hat notes

Please note that the headers I soldered to this hat are probably larger than standard ones, the black plastic section that attaches to the Pi protrudes from the hat 1cm and it has been designed around this size. If yours are smaller they may not make proper contact.

Respeaker 4-Mic Linear Array Kit hat notes

The lid for this does not have the possible header clearance problem that the Adafruit lid above does. This lid may be hard to print on FDM due to tolerances.

Print Settings

Rafts: No

Supports: Yes

Notes:

This was developed on an SLA printer where it prints easily with a few supports and exactly to size.

Most of the parts work equally well on FDM and I have had one person report a successful print on a Bambu machine, however please note that some of the tolerances in this case and lids may be tight, so please be cautious with print settings to ensure the correct scale and to reduce shrinkage.

Please check any part specific notes in the description above.
