Our makerspace is switching to a keyless entry system using 125 khz EM4100-compatible RFID tags. I wanted to design a 3D-printable custom keychain that incorporated our logo. These are the result!

The fob is designed to printed with two pauses: one to insert the RFID tag and keychain, and the second to change filament colors. I'm rather pleased with the result!

To make the fob as small as possible, I'm using these 18 mm RFID tags from AliExpress

And these keychains from Amazon:

However, the dimensions of both parts are included as parameters in the Fusion 360 model, so it should be easy to update to whatever size you require.

Notes:

To enhance resolution on the top surface of the fob, I used variable layer height in PrusaSlicer, changing from 0.2 mm on the lower section to 0.7 mm in the top mm. When I do full production, I'll probably change to 0.3 mm on the lower parts to speed printing.

I inserted an M601 pause command at 4.2 mm to insert the RFID token and keychain, and an M600 filament change command at 5.3 mm to change filament colors.

The keychains should be inserted exactly as pictured, with the larger connecting ring angled to avoid interfering with the nozzle.
