Print flat with 2mm layer height, 3 walls, no supports, and 30% infill.
Assembly:
A specific amount of rubber bands are required in order for this to function properly and can vary depending on the kind you use. The brush should be able to extend consistently when stood upright. I found that 2 medium sized bands worked for me. The cover snaps into the shell and can be held in place with a singular M2 or other small screw at one of the forward screw slots, though it isn’t required. There are also other screw slots available if you want more rigidity. If you notice that the switch action isn’t smooth, use sand paper. Do not use lubricant.
Details:
When modeling and testing, I went through a lot of filament so I designed a less filament hungry version of the shell that prints faster while retaining the functionality and strength of the original. This “skeleton” version reduces print time by about an hour and saves around 5 grams of filament. I also made a few changes with the inner mechanisms to make operation smoother.
If you would like, you can mix and match between the original and skeleton version to create a sort of hybrid.
