I was having problems reading the display of the iGrill thermometer in direct sunlight. To make the device a bit more useable i added a shade.
I designed this with the sizes of the original base, so it fits perfectly on the metal tray (attached to the handle of the grill).
Assembly
Screw the shade onto the base. I didnt had the correct screw size in stock, so i added a nylon washer to fill the gap (see pictures). make sure the hole in the shade is large enough so it can move freely.
If you want it to move smoothly, you could add a rubber o ring with some grease between the shade and base.
There is a 16mm pocket in the bottom of the base, this can be used to add a magnet.
