Ender 5 S1 Printable enclosure

This printable enclosure has been in the works since early this year and I am now confident to release it on here. All panels are scaled for printing in ABS and take shrinkage into account. When assembled they should fit good enough so that tightening the screws will add a slight bit of tension to the side in order to keep the thin sides from shaking a bunch. I do however recommend that you add some sound dampening sheets to the sides in order to keep the sides from rattling when printing at high speeds

Bill of materials

• Less than 1kg of ABS

• 16x M5x10 socket head screws

• 16x M5 “hammer” nuts

• 24x M3x8 socket head screws

• 2x M3x12 socket head screws

• 26x M3x3 heatset inserts

• Acrylic panel 284x394x3mm

• Thin automotive sound deadening (optional)

Printing instructions

Print at 0.2mm layer-hight and use ABS. Enclosure is not needed for most parts but the door parts may warp to some extent if printed without enclosure. Some warp on the door is fine as the acrylic pane will stiffen it straight to some extent.

Assembly

Print out all parts of a side and attach them using the printable nuts, the nuts should be snug and may need to be scaled up/down somewhat to get a good fit. Once a side is done you can attach a M5 bolt and nut to each of the posts and slot each side into the extrusions by bending the panel a bit. Snug up each bolt a bit and then tighten a bit alternating sides in order to evenly tension the panel. If attached correctly it should be under a slight tension
