Instructions

For assembly you first need to print all three parts and proceed with the following steps:

  1. Grab the rotary part, an soldering iron and your two M4 threaded inserts.
Install both inserts at both sides as seen in this video.
You may want to let the part cool down afterwards.
  2. Grab the pin and main part.
Slide the pin with the slightly longer length to the middle connector (lower side of 3D model from files download) into the hole as seen in the pictures. It should completely go inside the part.
Depending on your printer this can be a tight fit. You may want to file off some material.
  3. Grab the parts from step 1. and 2., and two M4 screws.
Align the printed parts as seen in the pictures and screw them in place with light force.
If the rotary part wont move, try loosening the screws to allow for movement.

After assembly you can now use the expansion card holder with your favorite modules.

Simply slide the pin out of the rotary part, rotate it up a bit, remove or add any cards you want, and rotate it back in position, securing it with the pin again to prevent it from opening accidentally.

Additionally, the screwdriver can be easily pushed in place by sticking the tip into the hole at the right of the main model.

If you have the need for any short USB device (e.g. dongles), you can install them at the right of the main model. I didn't really have the need for this feature, but just enough space due to the wish for symmetry.

Requirements

As stated before, the following items are required for assembly:

  • M4 threaded inserts. I bought these from amazon.
  • M4 screws. I bought these from amazon.
