A basic 1 inch by 1 inch by ½ inch building block with a 9/32 inch through hole on the 1 inch x 1 inch face and ¼"-20 threaded holes in the 1 inch x ½ inch sides. This is the foundational building block in a project that will allow anyone, but is intended for children, who wish to build structures and mechanical devices. The purpose of this block is to permit construction in all three axes. Using common peg board, plywood, cardboard and similar materials that has 9/32 inch holes spaced 1 inch apart starting on the ½ inch, the building can make basic structures using this block. future building blocks will be released that will increase the scope of this educational toy system.
I have no design or engineering experience and cannot guarantee or recommend the safety of using this design in any project or construction.
I use PLA with 4 perimeters, 5 solid layers on the bottoms and 5 solid layers on the top with a 10% gyroid infill.
Included is a picture of a repeating catapult that is a project made from these building blocks. in the future projects will be released with instructions, files for printing blocks and links to videos about the project.
