This is a mount for the BLtouch on the original Lulzbot Taz 6 single-extruder. It mounts on the hot-end cooling fan duct on the right side tucked in nice and safe. I built it after I used someone else's design that mounted to the left part-cooling duct and it snagged on the printer and broke off during the first print after install.
Some caveats,
- We have a 4mm thick fan shield mounted to the duct so if you don't have that you will need to print two of the 4mm spacers.
- The duct mounting screw dictated where the BLtouch mount could be so you will need to have a spacer to lower the BLtouch down from the mount. I have included a 2mm spacer that worked just right for my system but you may need to tweak.
- It is easiest to mount the BLtouch to the bracket then mount the bracket to the fan duct. HOWEVER, you need to insert the fan duct mounting Screw before the BLtouch gets that inside screw. That mounting screw needs to be replaced with a longer screw.
Additional things you will need:
- M3x30 Fan Duct mounting screw.
- Two each M3x10 screws, M3 nuts, M3 washers to mount the BLtouch to the bracket.
- Two each M3x20 screws to mount the bracket to the cooling-fan mount.
- BLtouch
- DrunkenOctopus Firmware from https://www.drunkenoctop.us/.. You have to be a patreon to get the prebuilt binaries but it is well worth the money. I'm unrelated, just a happy customer.
Probe Offsets on my system: X35.01 Y-48.99 Z-1.65 ; (mm)
ps, please ignore the dirty fan and poor print quality. The Lulzbot was in pieces at the time I made this so I had to use my untuned printer to make it.
