I had this since around 2017 or earlier, which I don't want to order any 12v to 5v module nor an actual car's cigar receptacle. My intended use were to power the RasPI for my printer back then. It still held up okay to this day. They were printed in ABS if I recalled.
Why the trouble of making this instead of buying a dc to 5v module? I figured that making this, I can simply just replace the car USB charger anytime when it failed, which can be sourced at any local store very easily too.
Wiring around the this cigar receptacle can be a task. The wire should be alternating in the cylindrical housing, they're modeled so that any wire will make contact to the electronic without any contact deadzones.
