Cricut Expression requires a cartridge to use. Usually supplied with GEORGE.
But finding a used machine without the cartridge …what to do? Machine wont do anything without the cartridge, or a cartridge.
WELL, The machine actually already has this in internal ROM, so to access it
Make this card adapter and put wire or contacts in position 2 and 3 and 5 on the machine and it triggers the internal ROM to see a George Card. Internal program activated by a jumpered card edge.
I colored in the print to show what connections need to be made.
Here is a printable card edge to fit the slot. then use either conductive ink (defroster touch up paint) or aluminum foil cut to fit and glued or wire which is what I did.
be careful not to mangle your card slot if you plan to use other cartridges. This enables a no cartridge machine to work and use USB to control with software
