The Mattel Maximizer is well known for at least 2 things: being quite powerful, and often breaking in one or several places.  Since the Maximizer came out people have been attempting to keep these blasters functional by reproducing broken parts they can replace and repairing the parts that they can’t.  When I was recently considering purchasing a Maximizer with a broken barrel, I went searching online for a 3D printed model of a barrel that I could print in order to fix the blaster.  Since the barrel is one of the parts that breaks most commonly, I figured there would be at least a few models available to print, but after searching for a time I was surprised to find that wasn’t the case.  I found one model from several years ago that looked like it functioned adequately, but it was not the recreation of the original stock part that I was looking for. So, I decided to purchase the blaster and make one of my own.

I’ve made 2 versions of the Maximizer barrel. The first aims to recreate the stock barrel as closely as possible, and is compatible with the stock orange tip the blaster uses.  The second aims to allow the Maximizer to use as many ammo types as possible through the use of a threaded end that is compatible with the various Titan barrels Sillybutts made for his wonderful Sillymaxx 1400 Blaster(https://www.stuffbysilly.com/foamblasters/sillymaxx1400). This gives the blaster many fun new options, my favorite of which is the ability to fire Mega XL darts.  I also included a threaded tip of my own design that allows the threaded barrel to function with the vintage rockets the blaster originally came with.

Both barrels use the stock metal rod that holds the spring to the front of the barrel, as well as the 3 stock screws that hold the barrel onto the blaster.  No additional hardware is necessary.

I would recommend printing both barrels at 100% infill.  I printed both barrels at 100% infill, and in my tests so far I have yet to see any breaks or stress fractures form. That is not to say that I think this barrel will last forever, but should the barrel of this blaster break again, I will be able to print another. Perhaps with edits, if necessary.

I really enjoyed making and using these parts, and I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do!
