These are made for cheap 1-in webbing ratcheting straps from Home Depot (HDX brand if I recall correctly). The loose ends were getting tangled up in my ammo cans. The straps being all tangled makes a good excuse for not securing the load in the bed of the truck. That is not a good idea.
These will likely work on the Husky brand straps as well.
The ones that you see in the images are Hatchbox black PETG at 0.35mm layer height and 50% fill. Support is NOT recommended (it is about impossible to remove the support materail from the slot). A brim is recommended.
Material, layer height and fill percentage are flexible.
Use a 10.5-in piece of paracord with a midshipman's hitch sliding knot to keep the tail from unwinding off of the spool. You will find that depending on the length of the strap you may be able to get away with a shorter length or paracord. A longer length is not going to kill you either, it will just make for a longer tail. The bitter end is tied off with a simple overhand knot.
They are easy to load. Insert the tail all the way through the slot so that it comes back out the other side and just start winding it all up!.
When in use you will find that once you start to pull the webbing off of the spool it will get loose quickly and unspool easily. when you play out enough line for your load, snug up the sliding knot to keep the remaining tail managed.
