Update October 2021: FYI there is a patent troll submitting take-down notices for tap handles that hold a keg cap. My design is not his design, nor was I even aware of his design until he hit my Thingiverse account, but he claims his patent gives him the rights to any design of this basic concept. I am not making any money with my design, and if Prusa wants me to take it down, I will.

All of which to say - if you like this design, better download it now.

----------------------------------------------

A very simple mod of Neon22's Customizable Profiled Handle (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:923244) to turn it into a tap handle for a standard tower beer faucet that will hold the round plastic cap of a commercial quarter-barrel keg.

Print Settings

Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC

Printer: Rostock MAX

Rafts: No

Supports: Yes

Resolution: 0.25mm layer height

Infill: 20% with a solid modifier for base

Notes:

Used Hatchbox PLA Bronze 1.75mm filament. Printed upright. I struggled to get Slic3r to calculate adequate support material for the cone, and wound up with overkill that took a good bit of effort to remove. I used a modifier in Slic3r to make the first 25mm solid infill, with the rest at 20% honeycomb. Took about 2.5 hours to print.

After removing support material, did some light sanding & scraping to remove stringers. I then tapped the hole at the bottom post-print to fit the faucet handle threads. The hole turned out about 2-3mm too shallow to fully thread on, but it still works. Applied a little double-sided tape to the flat face of the cone to help the keg cap stay in place.

How I Designed This

Used Neon22's OpenSCAD file;
Profile shape #13
height 110
width 23
round hole, 8.5mm dia & 13mm deep [should have been 16]

Then added the following lines:
rotate([90, 0, 0]) translate([0, 35, 5])
cylinder(15, 5, 31);
translate([0, -19.5, 68])
cube([4, 1, 8], true);
