This is a PDC kit I made to work with Martin's Rocinante model. I remixed his frame to except my PDC assembly. The rest of the kit, which include doors, PDC, arm, and base, were created by me in Blender. I made this model so that the PDCs can be stuck onto the Rocinante model with magnets, similar to the Idea Planet Kickstarter Roci. My PDCs are fully posable and scaled larger to be closer in scale to the show's PDCs. The empty space behind the PDC doors can be used to house batteries, lights, or electronics.

Note:

There is a hole in the base ready to except a 3x8 mm neodymium magnet. Use the slicer to create a larger magnet hole if need be. Keep in mind if you scale up, the hole will get larger. I will include a version without the hole so you can cut in your own size.

You must glue a magnet or piece of metal on the opposite side of the door (or vice versa) so that the PDC base will stick. Make sure to line things up.

The door is best printed on an edge. Use supports where needed. You can print face down if you are scaling up or printing with a nozzle smaller than .4mm. Otherwise the .4mm smears the detail.

Glue is only needed for the magnets and the canon if you printed it in two split parts. The canon will snap down onto the turret base once whole (glue it together first).

Before inserting the turret pin, make sure the bore of the turret base and arms are clear of extra PLA. Test fit the pin into both sides and twist.  The pin should fit through snuggly with only the force of your fingers

Adjust the dimensions (scale) of the PDC Turret Pin.3mf in slicer if the fitment is too loose or tight to meet your needs.

Update 15 Sept 2022: Adjusted dimensions of parts labeled V2 for better fit.

Update 12 December 2023: Added a display base and an adapter that enables you to use my PDC canon with the rest of Martin's PDC assembly (ie, a simple switch of just his canon).

Update 20 Jan 2024: Redesigned the canon to have detail closer to the show and reduce the need for supports (printers will vary). Also uploaded are revisions to the turret and main arm to accommodate articulating arms and reduce need for supports. The turret no longer needs supports and the main arm only needs supports under the peg slot (if printing vertically).

Refer to images of the armed version assembly and be aware the axles that the arms clip to on the turret are oval, so slot the arms in the direction of the arrow.

BEWARE: Articulating arms were only viable at 120% scale or bigger in my testing (all parts are uploaded to match Martin's model at 100%, you must scale up yourself). The pieces are just too fragile any smaller. However, the new canon works with the old design without articulating arms if you plan to print at smaller scales.

Update 21 Jan 2024: Uploaded alternative articulating support arms. This version uses a glue in retention clip (see photos). This version should work better at all scales with careful assembly.
