This is a 3D Printable SSD mounting bracket that is compatible with 45Drives Storinator servers (except those which feature boot drive backplanes).

This was shown off in Techno Tim's video here:

This is compatible with the 45Drives HL15 Homelab server as well. With a couple caveats:

  • Your power supply needs to be able to handle the 5V current demand that any of the drives that you might install using this bracket.
  • The Corsair RM750e supply was selected for the HL15 Homelab server to handle powering the 15 storage bays that come with the server (and keep the noise down). There are no additional SATA power connections remaining on the power supply with which to power these drives.
  • The RM750e supply only has a 5V current limit around 20A. Which means that even if you decide to rob any connections from the supply to power more SSDs that you want to put in this bracket, you need to be aware that this current limit can be exceeded with the demand that an additional 6 SATA SSDs could add.
  • The dedicated storage bays that come with the HL15 can be used to hold 7mm and 15mm SSDs by using 3D printable caddys that are also available on our Printables page.

Here is a link to the OnShape Document for these mounting brackets.

We've also provided the .step file here if you want to modify it.

You'll need to use 4 of these 6-32 Heat Set Inserts to mount this to your server.

You'll also want to grab some 6-32 ¼" pan head screws to mount them with.

Additionally, each SSD will require 4 of these M3x4mm screws.

Happy Printing!
