A while ago, I made a toothpaste squeezer by adding a pair of lips to the design from Spidersky1489.  It works fine.  Well, in terms of squeezing hard.  By doing so, I created a problem.  Owing to the very small gap to facilitate the squeezer to work effectively, it was quite difficult to fit the device onto a new tube of toothpaste.

To solve this problem, the gap should be able to open a little bit wider when attaching.  Then, the gap should be able to close a little bit when squeezing. Hence, a movable gap is needed.  I explored several designs, finally I chose to use a non-concentric squeeze rod because of its simplicity.  When the rod is turned, the distance to the support rods will change that the gap is adjustable.  Therefore, the tightness of the squeezer can be adjusted by rotating the squeeze rod, i.e. the spindle.  To attach the squeezer to a tube of toothpaste, simply pull the tab on the spindle backwards to open the gap.  After the squeezer is attached, push the tab forward to close the gap for squeezing.  Finally, push the tab to the vertical position to lock the squeezer in place when squeezing is done.

A video showing the operation of the model is also attached below for easy reference, please.

The model consisted of three parts, the main body, the spindle and the end plate.  To assembly the model, insert the spindle onto the main body, then press fit the end plate to secure the whole assembly.  In view that different printer may output the parts in slight different dimensions, three versions of the end plate are available, i.e. normal, tight and loose version.  Similarly, two versions of the spindle are availalbe, i.e. normal and loose.  Users may choose the ones that suit their needs.

The STL files are attached for users to slice their GCODE files according to their needs.  Sample GCODE files are also available for easy reference.

A friend told that a less industrial look would be preferred, i.e. without the rods protruding out of the two ends.  Hence, the model is redesigned and new main body and end caps are made, namely, Main Body (ver 2), End Cap (ver 2 - normal), End Cap (ver 2 - tight) and End Cap (ver 2 - loose).  Relevant STL files are attached for users to slice their own GCODE files according to their needs.  Also, sample GCODE files are attached for easy reference.

Thank you very much for view.  If you found this model useful, please like and share so that other users may download it.
