I have prepared a simple soldering station project using a PARKSIDE 20V battery and a QUICKO T12-942 soldering iron powered by 24V. The result is a handy portable soldering iron.

The replaceable soldering iron holder covers the entire tip, which allows safe operation, e.g., in a car. I used an old 13-mm socket for this, and it works perfectly.

The project was developed for Parkside purposes, and I didn't plan any other batteries, so the adapter is one-piece, but it is open to modifications if needed.

Supplies
  • 2x brass male terminal 6.3 mm
  • Cable 2x0.75+ 15-20 cm
  • DC connector 5.5x2.1
  • Hot glue
  • (optional) ½" Deep Socket 13mm
  • (optional)  4x M3x3mm threaded insert & M3x6mm SHCS
Printing

You may need to change the orientation of the object for printing

I used PLA for printing, layer height 0.2mm, number of walls 3, infill 20%, and supports where needed. You might as well use your printer's default settings.

It's definitely better to print with PETG

Assembling

Prepare the cable by crimping the terminals on one end and soldering the DC plug on the other. Pull in the end of the cable and place the terminals in their corresponding holes. Make sure the polarity is correct. Check the fit with the battery and try to power the soldering iron. If everything is OK, fill the chamber with hot glue and leave it to cool. Press the QUICKO housing onto the adapter, and it should hold tightly without the use of glue or screws.

Connect it to the battery, and you're done.
