I recommend increasing perimeters until the thin sections are solid. The shape lends to a lot of potential for leverage that could break it. Part 2 will need supports, I recommend organic.

To put the puzzle together slide one of the rings fixed to the horseshoe on part 2 over the protrusion of part 1.
Push the floating ring through the protrusion,
And to the other side
Then lift the ring fixed ring off of the protrusion.
