I've made this Angiography system arm for colleagues to use to demonstrate the movements of the arm.
I've already printed 4x it, with some success and some failures in some parts that lead me to optimize it.
Overall instructions and recommendations
- the entire model is cut in parts that have a flat face that are proper to print without supports.
- the parts contains 4mm holes to help alignment when gluing the parts together.
- Print 10 units of the part “Pin x10”. These will be the pins used in the holes to allow proper alignment.
- There's a file with all parts already correctly oriented for printing.
- There are 3mf and STL files, whatever you prefer.
- Test your printer tolerances for the lock bar, pin and holes. It might be necessary to straight the holes with a 4mm drilling bit, and/or to adjust the lock bar with a sandpaper.
- Glue all parts using superglue (cyanoacrylate).
- I've printed using 0.2mm height and also using 0.3-0.1mm variable height. Both results were fine.
- If using Prusaslicer automatic variable layer height, it will reduce the layer height (increase detail) in every hole height. This is not necessary. Manually reset the layer height at holes height to the thicker layer and leave only surfaces and round parts with the increased detail layer height.
- I've printed using PLA. But other filaments should also be fine.
Please share your make if you print it :)
