None of all the filament swatches already available did fit my needs, so I created my own one.
I wanted to have an easy way to label them and store them in an efficient way (because I have over 100 different filaments).
The box I use to store them can be found here:
https://www.printables.com/model/607583-filament-swatches-storage-box
It's fully customizable to fit less, or even more, swatches.
Support my work
For non-Prusa parts and filaments, check out 3DJake (International, UK, Germany, France).
I'll get a small cut of any order you fulfil using these links (at no additional cost for you 😉).
If you want to support my work directly, you can buy me a coffee.
If you want to order a Prusa printer and earn some Prusameters (I will also get some), you can use my referral code "@Whity" at checkout or click one of the following links
(the code only works for the first order of each printer model):
| CORE One | CORE One Kit | MK4 | MK4 Kit | MINI+ | MINI+ Kit | XL | SL1S | SL1S+CW1S |
Also check out my other models.
Features
The filament swatch has the following features:
- Label field for Brother (or other) labels (customizable in F360)
- 1-6 layers thickness to see the transparency of the material
- Bridges with different lengths
- Different overhangs (35, 45, 55, 65°)
- ⅓, ⅔ and full height to check the flexibility of the material
- Notches on the top and sides to be used to indicate the type of material (or whatever you want to use them for)
Customization
The Fusion 360 (and Step) file is also available in the downloads section in case you want to modify it. Most dimensions can be easily customized (Go to "MODIFY" => “Change Parameters” in F360).
Batch print labels
I used a CSV exported from a spreadsheet to batch print the labels of all the filaments I have. I also included the IBX file for Brothers P-touch Editor and an example CSV file to be used as database.
Unfortunately the single fields have to be linked manually again after importing a new CSV file.
