The Technics part number for this item is SFUMC07-16

The Technics SL-7 is a great vintage linear tracking record player from the early 80s. I love it, and I already repaired a few getting them back into working order.
The turntable detects the record size automatically with “opto-electronic detection” to determine the cueing position and the speed. (Which is marketing speak for a few LEDs).
This automatic system doesn't work on transparent records: this slider is used to set the record size manually.

A fellow enthousiast was looking for this rare part, the reason why I made this replacement for him.

I would be really surprised if there is anybody else in the world that could use this part ;-)
As it is very specific for this old record player.
And you must have lost the part during a repair…
And then find it here on Printables…
            Let me know!

Printing
Printed in PETG, upside down on the bed. 04.mm nozzle, 0.2mm layerheight.
After printing push the little knob into the hole and fix in place with e.g. a soldering iron.

The ‘finger’ that snaps into the various positions needs to bend downward (heat it up carefully with a lighter). This is different from the original model, but makes it cleaner to print without supports.

18-1-'26 I'm really surprised this obscure part already had more than 35 downloads 😊.
