Has anyone ever made that long trip to Costco, spent hours and hundreds of dollars when all they really wanted was one of their delicious $7 rotisserie chickens?

Well, on this trip I purchased 2 Kirkland Signature commercial sling chairs.  I used the chairs for one season and then the weld joint around on screw completely separated.

This left me with a few options.

  1. Return it to Costco.  A good option, but they no longer had the same lounge chair, and its a hassle to get it into the car.  Also, there is the fact that I would spend hundreds for that $7 chicken again.
  2. Find someone to weld it back together
  3. Buy a Prusa Mk3s and start my new hobby of 3D printing.

Option 3 it was, and the rest is history.

After some work with a digital caliper, and thoughts on materials that would last outdoors.  I designed the model in Fusion 360. I decided to print with PTEG since I hadn't made my enclosure yet and didn't want the toxic ABS fumes.

I started with electric blue PTEG as a test run, and landed up loving the color.  Its also a conversation pieces that opens the door to annoy anyone who will listen about my 3D printing hobby.
