This modified/kit-bashed buffer segmenter (front plate) for the MMU3 cassette buffer, in combination with @Melvin_131612's excellent MMU3 buffer mount allows the buffer to be mounted horizontally, lying down on its side.
I made this because I wanted to mount the cassette buffer on top of my Prusa Lack Enclosure v2 similar to how you were supposed to mount the MMU2S buffer on it (but offset to one side instead of centered, due to how the cassettes are designed). Two different orientations are available, with feet on either the left or the right side (the only actual difference is the text on the front, the part is otherwise symmetrical).
With this part and seven (7) of the aforementioned MMU3 buffer mounts (one for each of the free holes in the buffer plates), the buffer is supported and sturdy laid down on its side.
In my experience, the buffer, when placed in this orientation, seems to work just as it should.
Update April 11, 2024: Added a new version based on the new buffer segmenter version R4 (compatible with MK4/MK3.9). Also included the text parts, for if you want to make a multi-color version. Note that the R4 segmenter also needs the new R4 buffer segments/cassettes (see Forum for details).
