Project description
I created a Halloween pumpkin, that has built-in LEDs that mimic the candlelight and ultrasonic water atomizer, which creates a water mist that looks like smoke.
I took the model of pumpkin, scaled it up made it hollow, and cut out the eyes and mouth. Here is the result 😊

Ultrasound water atomizer or similar
LEDs that flicker like candles
Assembly steps
- Paint the insight of the pumpkin, to make it watertight. I used a transparent acrylic paint.
- Insert threaded inserts in the atomizer holder.
- Glue the atomizer holders in the pumpkin.
- Write up electronics. All the LEDs are wired in parallel. Don’t forget to create the solder bridge on the bottom of the atomizer control board, to start the board automatically when the power is applied.
- Cut cotton rod to 45mm.
- Assemble all things together.
- Attache cover. You can use a bit of hot glue so it will stay on.
- Add 40 ml of water and wait for the cotton rod to get completely soaked (up to 30 min). You can tilt the pumpkin to pour the water in.
- Plug it in the USB charger and enjoy 😉
Keep in mind, that the surfaces on which the pumpkin stands will get wet after some time.
