Fits within a Catan board or works just as well placed to the side (does obstruct view when placed in the centre).

V2 - Refined

After getting a new printer, I decided to re-visit this model and refine some things.  Printed on an Elegoo Centauri on slow speed and a 0.2mm layer height. Top of the chute still didn't print perfectly but much less delamination than earlier versions. Photos show old version compared to the latest one and where to expect delamination.

Fits within the game board for Settlers of Catan, or stand alone. Works well within the game when playing with an edge desert tile.

Allows players to drop dice in the top and captures them at the bottom and gives the robber a place to sit while not in use.

Parts have an interference fit and pop into place. No glue required to hold them together.

There are .step .stl and .3mf files available to download.

16/08/2026 - whole model refinement with a readjustment to where the chute sits above the base and some rounded edges. Chute has been shortened to allow easier viewing of the dice.

25/10/2023 - I had trouble printing the top of the chute but also know my printer is not yet tuned for optimal printing.

29/10/2023 - Updated the chute design to simplify things for printing and remove material, to speed up printing.

5/11/2023 - Increased the height of walls on the base to better hold the dice once they have been dropped.

23/11/2023 - Tested with gameboard. Fits well and dice can be viewed well from most positions around the game table. Small chance of dice spitting out onto gameboard, testing indicates roughly 80% of rolls stay contained within the dice tower.
