So, I can't speak for those outside the US, but in the US, many nails and other fasteners are sold in small 1 lb (0.45 kg) boxes that are generally the same size:

Length:  4.5in/11.43cm
Width: 3.5in/8.89cm
Height: 1.75in/4.445cm

I wanted a convenient way of storing these boxes on my pegboard wall. The solution would require a few things:

  1. Boxes must be easy to access, i.e. not stacked on top of each other
  2. Fasteners can be removed without taking the box out of the storage
  3. Save filament where available
  4. No supports

These brackets are the solution I came up with. Instead of making an entire shelf, I made a left and right bracket which requires less filament. I went with minimal bracing, but that would still keep the brackets from flexing.

The size of the brackets are (see picture):

Length: 0.9in/23mm
Width: 3.54in/90mm
Height: 2.5in/63.5mm

With these dimensions, and the brackets set 5 inches apart, it will be hold one of these standard size fastener boxes.

The corners have bracing to keep the brackets strong. However, the corners have cut-outs so that the tops of the boxes are not blocked when lifted.

Print Settings (as pictured) and tested*:

Filament: PETG
Layer height: 0.20mm
Infill: pegs: 100%, everything else: 20%
Perimeters: 3

*Important: I have experimented with different printing settings, however, these are the only settings I have tested and verified to work well for holding boxes. If you decide to print using different filament and settings, you do so at your own risk.

I would recommend using a modifier to print the pegs at 100% infill so they are not susceptible to breaking (see picture with Prusa Slicer)

No supports are required if printing with the outside face/edge down on the bed. Again, see picture of Prusa Slicer for an example of how to print both.

Warning: The design is offered free and without warranty. Please use caution when storing something with these brackets. There is always a chance that a print may fail, and therefore, I would strongly recommend testing them first after printing and should not be used in a way where if they failed, that could damage something or hurt someone.
