I needed a case for my XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro portable projector, and decided to print one. It works pretty well and has protected the projector on several camping trips. However, I would not recommend relying on this if you're planning on dropping your projector off of a cliff or white-water rafting with it.
You will need to print:
From this model:
- top.stl
- bottom.stl
From zx82net Customizable Rugged Waterproof Box:
- 2 hinges
- 2 latch arms
- 2 latch cams
You will also need some additional hardware:
- 8 20mm M3 bolts
- 8 M3 nuts
Follow the directions on the zx82net model to assemble. I found that the holes were very tight, but I was able to install the bolts without too much trouble. I printed with 10% infill and 2 perimeters so it's a little bit flexible.
The fit is very snug so if you're not confident in your printer's dimensional accuracy, you could print a thin slice of one of the sides to make sure it fits. You could also slightly enlarge the case and line it with some soft fabric, but I haven't found that to be necessary.
When storing the projector, you should place it so the lens faces the cutout on one side- this will protect it from possible scratches.
