Note: As commented by @JBoe in the comments section, this is not a constant velocity angular joint, as I had claimed erroneously before. See his comment for an explanation. Update Nov. 7: I uploaded a real Rzeppa joint design here.
An angular joint for fischertechnik clip axles (Rastachsen). Allows for a angles of +/-30°. Inspired by a comment by Harald from the fischertechnik community forum.
Print-in-place, no support, .1mm layer height. The gap between the moving parts is only .15 mm, overextrusion will be deadly, as if there is any excess material, you won't be able to loosen the two parts. So, if in doubt, decrease your flow rate.
Update: Added "Kugelgelenk Rzeppa v3_wider_gap.stl" (untested) with an increased gap of .25 mm for easier printing, and the FreeCAD source where you can change that value in the "_Master" sketch yourself.
Additional recommended print settings:
- 6 Walls/perimeters
- 100% infill
- 6 Bottom Layers, 3 Top Layers
- 40 mm/s speed
- 100% cooling/fan speed
- 4 s Minimum Layer Time, 1.0 mm/s Minimum Speed, Lift Head off
- no Support
- Brim for adhesion only if necessary (will end up clogging the gap, even with Brim Only on Outside)
