A 3D printable case for Unihertz Jelly Star, the mini Android phone.

One of the main complaints I have had about the Jelly series is the lack of a case with matte finish. The official TPU case that comes with the phone tends to get extremely oily, while I am also not able to source any good third-party case that has a matte finish.

As a result, I ended up designing this case on my own with OpenSCAD. There are a few things to note before printing your own:

• This model is intended to be printed with flexible materials like TPU.
  • It is slightly smaller than the actual phone, so if you print with a rigid material, it will probably not fit.
  • The intention is that the case will stretch a bit to ensure a tight grip on the device.
  • Print with a clear TPU if you still want to see the LED on the back.
• Print slowly to ensure good overhang performance.
  • On my Bambu P1S, I had to lower the volumetric speed to around 1.2 - 1.5.
  • This is mainly due to the curvature of the case / device. The model has already compensated for that by making the back much flatter than the device itself, but it is still not a easy print.
• The geometry of the case is manually created and calibrated.
  • As a result, it will never be an exact fit, but for me it works well enough.
  • More specifically, the back of the case does not follow exactly the geometry of the phone.
• There is no lanyard hole because I don't yet trust the case to hold the phone well enough to not slip when hung. It should be straightforward to make a remix with a hole for that though.
• This model will not work with the older Unihertz Jelly 2 or 2E – however it should be relatively easy to adapt for them.
