This is more of a project than just a model. This is a system of parts for setting up an RO water storage system for my Aquarium Water. I was unable to find a system that worked the way I wanted, so I designed my own. The heart of the design is an ESP32-S. The code operates with ESPHome on Home Assistant, making data and control available on a secure cloud. I will be putting the electronics design and code on my GITHUB account. I will place a link to the project shortly.
While I originally designed this for use with my aquariums, it is a generic control system that should have other applications such as hydroponics. Features include:
- Monitor water level
- Turn on/off RO water based on level
- Monitor water temp
- Monitor air temp
- Interface available for TDS meter
- Interface available for PH meter
- 2 relay drive outputs
- Report state of all functions through wifi to Home Assistant
- Allow control of relay outputs through Home Assistant
located here is a collection of 55 gallon bung caps and the electronics case. 55 Gallon Plastic barrels have two types of caps, a “Buttress Cap” and an “NPS Cap” . Each has a unique thread pattern, and they are not interchangeable. I used these setting up my RO Water storage system. They were custom made to solve specific problems. One allows me to put a heater in the tank, with a cap to keep stuff out. I can screw in a ¼" quick disconnect fitting for the RO water feed, and install a thermistor cable to monitor temperature. I can also attach a level sensor to measure the amount of water in the tank. There is one specifically for connecting multiple barrels with a siphon. I was able to print each of these without supports. The one with ¾" threads for PVC pipe fittings needed to be printed at high infill just because one wall was rather thin and would allow air through when pumping water at high volumes. All of these where designed using Fusion 360.
