So this is a functional design. Had a bathroom vent fan flap that broke. Unfortunately the flap cannot be bought by itself, even worse it is no longer manufactured as the fan has long been discontinued. I was not looking to rip out the entire assembly for a simple broken pin on one side of the flap (see picture two) So I made one. Took a couple of tries to get it right, but it is fully functional. Vents appropriately with fan, and closes when not needed.
