A pair of these mounts will secure a VESA compatible TV or display to the face of a wooden board or similar object. With the settings I've provided, I would trust this to hold a 20 pound tv, and depending on parameters it could hold much more.

What files are included?

A f3d file for Fusion360 is included to edit parameters if needed, in addition to an STL rendered with these specifications:

  • Fits VESA devices with 100mm vertical distance between screwholes
  • Sits on the face of a board 20-22mm thick
  • Screwplate is 15mm thick between screwheads and display
  • Holes sunk 10mm to give space for screwheads and washers
  • Hole diameter adjusted for M6 screws

All of these settings and many more are labelled for editing in the f3d file if tweaks need to be made, otherwise I am willing to post variations myself if there is interest.

Print Settings

I printed on my Sovol SV06 (Prusa i3 mk3 clone) with these settings:

  • At least 30% infill, I like gyroid but rectilinear is fine.
  • .3mm layer height
  • 2.8mm thick walls & top/bottom - this is probably overkill, but it's my only TV, so best to play safe ;)
  • .4mm nozzle - feel free to use a larger nozzle, such as .6mm to print faster. No need for this to be pretty.
  • YES supports - .2mm top and bottom distance to aid in removal for PETG, it is stickier than PLA. To help make removing easier, you may try to add a support blocker within your slicer inside the screwholes, otherwise be prepared to spend a few minutes with your 3d printing snips pulling plastic out of the holes.
  • I used PETG, and I recommend PETG, ASA, ABS, or similar filament with better mechanical properties and durability, however in the case that PLA is used you should be just fine, but be sure to not over-tighten the screws.
Instructions on use
  1. Print two of these - each one screws into a vertical pair of VESA holes on the back of your TV.
  2. Next, get 4 washers with under 15mm outer diameter, and 4 M6x20 machine screws. (can be made to fit other sizes in fusion360)
  3. Drop a washer into each of the two holes on both mount pieces.
  4. Then, ensure the washers are lined up with the smaller holes for the screws, and set the screws in.
  5. Hold the mounts to the back of the TV, screw in the top screw, then the bottom, first in one mount, then the other.
  6. Pick your TV up, and gently set the mounts onto your bed frame, or other object with a wooden board.

Congrats, you've now mounted your TV!
