I needed a machine to assist in winding coils for my coilgun, so I designed a small machine for that purpose. It features a Nema 17 motor and an OLED display to indicate the turn count.
Its made from three Bosch Profile 20x20:
1 x 290mm
2 x 130mm
The Control Electronics consist from a Lase Cutter Controllable that i had on hand with a A4988 stepper motor driver. It coude also solder the arudino on a pice of Perfboard.
Mounting Hardware that you would need for the Winder:
- 30 M5 T-Nuts
- 30 M5 10mm Screws
- 2 M2 5mm Screws
- 2 M2 Headset inserts / Just leave them but i had them on hand so :)
- A Flexible coupling for the stepper motor.
- A Threaded Rod M8 as the shaft and some M8 Nuts to secure the Coil Holder
- some mounting screws for your Control Board solution
For Mounting Reference look in the step file also you may need a button. In my setup I have a Button that i can press with my leg for every Rotation.
