The model is designed for 250x250 mm bed: it won't fit (without adjustments) on Prusa MK3 bed.

The firmware used is ardwiino which makes it PS3 compatible. The buttons use Akko keyboard switches, AFACT it should be compatible with Cherry and similar. Short pre-travel recommended.

The assembly is done (mostly) using heat set threaded inserts (M3 short). You will need M3x8 and M3x12 fasteners, mostly. RPi Pico is held by M2.5 screws.

The strum paddle is held using 3mm bearing needles running in cheap teflon-coated plain bearings (I believe screws on plastic would destroy the plastic quite quickly). The whammy is adjustable.

The recommended material is PETG. The first prototype printed in black PLA partially melted when I had a brain fart and left it in the summer sun; I avoided dark colors and low-melting materials since.

Parts are not in the recommended orientation: rotate them to avoid need for supports (should be doable except for neck_body_bottom. As the parts are rather large, I recommend using brim (or brim ears) even with e. g. PETG: I had issues with corners lifting.

Some STLs contain multiple (somewhat distant) objects: use your slicer's “split to objects” function.

The drawings are somewhat messy: I am still learning how to use subassemblies properly. Sorry.

Rough BOM:

  • heat-set threaded inserts
  • M3x8 and M3x12 fasteners with socket head
  • M2.5 fasteners
  • keyboard switches (Akko compatible)
  • tilt sensor with axial leads (balls in tube type)
  • 10k (value not critical) potentiometer (6mm shaft)
  • 3mm inner / 4mm outer diameter plain bearings
  • 3mm bearing needles, about 11 mm long (or longer)
  • RPi Pico
  • 3m microUSB cable
  • some zip ties
  • wires (I used telephone cables, but it's not necessary)
