The added complication is it needed to be big enough for the brother, his father and his mother (still living). I did a remix of the high quality, hollow moai to get the necessary smooth detail. To make it big enough I needed to print in parts. The formula for capacity is 1 cu cm per pound body weight.
This needed to be done quickly, and print times were exceptional at 79 hours for the bottom and 50+ hours for the top. I chose to use supports because I didn't have time for a reprint if things went south.
