These couplers are intended to reduce vibration of the K1 Max during printing, and the table on which it sits, in 2 ways:
- Increase the mass of the table on which the printer sits
- Couple the printer to the mass of the table on which it sits
There are other ways to achieve this, for example, by bolting the table to a wall. But that's not always possible.
This design uses 20"x20"x2" concrete slabs for mass. Two versions of the coupler are provided, for use with either 1 or 2 stacked slabs. Slabs from Lowes: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Square-Gray-Concrete-Patio-Stone-Common-20-in-x-20-in-Actual-19-6-in-x-19-6-in/3031587
The couplers (one on each corner, for a total of 4) can be secured to the slabs with construction adhesive (preferable) or cyanoacrylate (super glue).
The pads on the bottom of the printer fit snugly into the hole on the top of the coupler.
