This is a version of my dome design for the SecKit SK-Tank, for version 2, with 2020 aluminum extrusion for the legs.
Most, if not all, dome accessories for the v1 should also work on the v2.
I found the dome platform to be particularly difficult to print well enough to get the legs to fit. I plan to refine the design over time to be easier to print and easier to fit the legs. For now I have these recommendations for how to print it:
- Use a short layer height (I used 0.1mm); this should remove the need for supports;
- Print at a low speed (60mm/s or less);
- Use no supports;
- Print the platform upside-down, with the leg sockets pointing up;
- Use a brim.
I printed in PETG and I find the platform to be not quite rigid enough, so I plan to address that sometime too.
