Benchy Gunboat

After the Printables takedown of one of my Benchy cored models due to the original Benchy licence restrictions, I deleted ALL my Benchy cored models. With the recent release of the Benchy into the public domain it has opened the door to re upload the models I had previously deleted (if I can even find them all in my backups and I didn't delete them all).  

When I created and uploaded the Binky fleet as replacements, I moved or deleted the original models from my primary back up drive altogether so they may not all come back. 

All the photos and print guides are likely long gone apart from a few images I used elsewhere. As such the only files and info here are likely to be minimal with only the actual models being provided along with perhaps a couple of old pictures.

It is loosely modelled on the ubiquitous benchy. But it is now a fully fledged gunboat. 2 turrets along with a CIWS just in case. It was initially a bit of fun and wasn't made to be printed but then so many people liked it that I tweaked it to be easier to print.

VERSION 3 NOW ADDED.

Version 3 has easier print turret guns than previous versions. I tweaked things so that an FDM printer can easily bridge build the barrels now. I also changed the angles of the turrets and made the barrels solid to again aid printing. At this scale, hollow barrels, even just the tips, was overkill.

no notes on printing, it was originally created as a bit of a laugh and more for fun than anything else. I never expected it to be something anyone would actually want to print when I first did it. But somebody asked for a printable version. A few tweaks later it is now a thing.

Previous update notes from after first creation.

Update notes:- Version 2 now uploaded in place of the pretty much impossible first version. I Still have concerns about the protruding weapons on V2. I just don't know if they will print well as they are right now.

Version 2 changes:- underside of turrets now have a more upside down cone design to minimise overhang. There is still a small overhang that has no support but is better than it was. Turret guns have been partially filled to again aid in printing. Being solid for most of the length gives more print stability.

Everything else was untouched from version one.
