When i integrated my new MK4 Printer into the Prusa-Box by Printer-Box i realized, that my xLCD won't fit into the Front of the Modular Control Panel from Printer-Box.

The Mounting Holes wouldn't align, the USB Connector had not enough space and the Display cut-out had gaps.

A shot research showed, that there are already existing 2 Variants of the xLCD from Prusa.

Variant B with the Earth Terminal in the lower right PCB Corner and a Variant A with the Earth Terminal in the upper left PCB Corner. Prusa has 2 different Printable Parts for the Variants R2 and R3.

R3 is for Variant A with Version Index >28 on the PCB.

That was my Variant.

So i Remixed the Original Part and made a few little tweaks to it:

  • Aligned Mounting Holes according the R3 Part from Prusa
  • Cleared Space for the USB Port
  • Moved xLCD more into the front to get a longer Encoder Axis, so i can use the Orginal Knob
  • Optimized Reset Button Haptics
  • Optimized LCD cutout to show the full useable Screen Area
  • Made a second Variant with a more downward oriented Lightstrip (more like the Prusa Original Part)
  • Lightguides which you can print from Transparent Material for a more Homogen look of the lights. V1 Lightguide ends flush with the Printed LCD Front, V2 sticks out 5mm from the Printed LCD Front.

All printable without supports.

V3 part:

After Printing insert a piece of Teflon Tubbing into the cutout (same as in the Original Printer-Box part)

V4 part:

After Printing stick a piece of reflective Tape or Aluminium Tape onto the Lightpath and the counterpart. If you want the Lightguide Parts, print them form clear/transparent Material. Infill depends on your likings. 15% gives a more even distributed light in my Opinion. With 100% you see hot spots from the LED's in the light distribution.

Add a Lightguide part if you want (Notch from the Lightguide facing downwards) and fasten the counterpart with M3 screws with max. 10mm length.
