COMPOST ME! Bookmark (100% PHA) Compostable and Biodegradable

INTRODUCTION:

Printed with 100% PHA so your bookmark at the end of its product lifecycle it can be home composted unlike PLA which needs very specific industrial composting conditions. Also tried to increase surface area to mass ratio to make it easier to compost by removing the top and bottom solid layers in PrusaSlicer. Also, tried to put a subtle reminder to compost it at the end of its product lifecycle :)

PRINT AND PRINTER SETUP:

100% PHA Filament, I am using standard Beyond Plastic White:

Note since PHA is fairly new adjustment of printer settings maybe needed.

Prusaslicer settings are:

• Perimeters = 3
• PrusaSlicer - Solid Layers:
  • Top = 0
  • Bottom =0
• Infill = 35%
• Infill pattern = 3D honeycomb

USE:

Place in the book and use it.

DISPOSAL/END OF LIFE:

Toss it in a compost pile.  It may take some time since composting speed depends on a number of factors such as temperature, humidity,  microbial population, part geometry, etc… With aerobic decompostion it will degrade into H20 and C02.
