About the design
I had purchased many of these web cam devices for my workplace, and some of the packages did not include the privacy covers. This is my interpretation of the stock cover with some changes. This design uses a hinge pin, which I have used a piece of wire from of a “plastic coated” paper clip to become the hinge.
- Insert the paper clip all the way through the two parts, then trim off the excess.
- Add a long light drop of clear rubber silicon sealant on the clip body, on the camera side
- Allow the silicon to dry fully before installing the cover on the camera itself.
- The cover will always be removable.
- Should fit snugly once silicon is dry.
