HSW Backplate for Glued Wall Mounting

Set of backplates to mount the hex squared HSW remix to a wall by use of some glue.

The backplates are designed for M3x3mm heatset inserts like the ones sold by cnc-kitchen.

Multiple options included.

• Option 1 with long center strip. Requires at least 340mm² build volume if placed diagonally, but adds additional stiffness.
• Option 2 with 3 smaller pieces instead of the center strip for smaller printers

I can imagine that other combinations are possible, but I did not test them.

I printed mine in Nobufil white PCTG with a 0.4mm nozzle (0.2mm layer height and 0.4mm line width, 4 top/bottom layers, 3 wall loops, 10% rectlinear infill). For the inserts, I used 3dJake PLA with similar settings.

For mounting, I used the included insert at the center plus the countersunk “in corner” insert from honeycomb storage wall insert collection for cell next to border as well as some of the original countersunk inserts from honeycomb storage wall

Note that my inserts are meant for M3x8mm countersunk screws, while the originals will require M3x6mm.

I used Patex Montage Power to glue the plates to the wall. I could not find the same glue on an English website, but I assume something similar will be sold. (It is simply a glue, normally meant to fix wooden parts to a wall. Which might be available in a home improvement center near you.)
