I wanted to mount my BMS vertically because it fits the direction of my installed batteries and their balancer cables.

Sadly the BMS has no mounting holes where you can attach something, so I designed this model to clamp to the sides and then slide into a baseplate. This baseplate can in turn be mounted via M3 screws and in the end the BMS sits vertically.

The Daly BMS (Lifepo4 15S 48V 60A) has the dimensions of 66x128x18mm according to the documentation.

Printing

  • Filament: I used PETG to have a bit of flexibility in the holders.
  • Infill: I used 15% and the parts feel pretty sturdy.
  • Nozzle: 0.4mm
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm
  • Perimiters: 2, (I used 1.67mm walls).
  • Support: The left and right holder need support, the baseplate doesn't. I used organic support from buildplate only.
  • Placement: See my slicer screenshot

Additional parts required

  • 2x M3x16 SHCS screws to clamp the holders to the BMS
  • 4x M3 Nuts, one for each holder, two for the baseplate
  • 2x M3 screws in the required length to mount the baseplate to your desired location

Installation

  • The data connectors need to face away from the baseplate.
  • First install the clamps/holders onto the sides of the BMS.
  • The M3 Nuts in the holders can be installed either in the front or the rear.
  • Mount the baseplate to the face where you want to install the BMS. Be careful that the screws do not reach too much above the baseplate, otherwise they will interfere with the BMS.
  • Slide the BMS with the holders into the larger slots of the baseplate and then move it 5mm sideways.
  • You may need to remove a bit of material from the side of the dovetails of the holders. Remove a tiny bit at a time until the dovetails fit nicely into the baseplate and have a good friction fit.
