*** Please note that this model is not compatible with Bambu Lab refills due to the thinner width of the refill. ***
Yes, another Spool! But with this model, you can create a multi-filament spool or a wider spool. You can try to create a Guinness record for the largest 3D-printed spool if you want. Even if it's a bad idea.
You have two sides for a spool. Side A and Side B. You need at least one Side A. Then you can link as many Side B.
I put in folders SideA and SideB the parts with different widths. So if you need a spool of 60mm, Combine a Side A of 30mm and Side B of 30mm.
Here is the way I named the files: Side_s_Dxxx_Iyy_Wzz
S is for the side. So be sure to print at least one Side A to link your side(s) B.
XXX for the outside diameter
YYY for the inside (the barrel?) diameter.
ZZZ for the width. The width includes everything except the part that will be imbricated on the other Side. So a Side A of 30m, plus a Side B of 40mm will create a spool of 70mm.
Dual Filament Spool for AMS
In the folder “Dual Filament Spool for AMS”, you will find parts needed to build a Dual-Material spool that fits in the AMS system. Like the photo.
Modifying sizes with Fusion 360:
You can modify the sizes for the spool in 360 without being a pro. Just follow the instructions:
- Load file F3D file in Fusion 360
- Press CTRL-C for open parameters
- Change the diameter, the inner diameter, or the width for each side in the Expression column.

- Click Ok to apply changes
- Right-click on Side A, select Save as mesh, click Ok, select save to my computer and choose a name.
- Do the same for the Side B.
- Voilà! Print the files you just saved.
I haven't tested all the possibilities. Do not hesitate to report a problem.
Modifying pattern with Fusion 360:
You can also modify the pattern. I included 4 patterns in the Fusion 360 file. The Voronoi, the Honeybee, the dots, and the default.
The default is a dumb one, but it's the fastest to print. To modify the pattern:
- Load file F3D file in Fusion 360
- Click at the right of Pattern: Default to select this pattern:

- At the bottom, right-click on this icon and select Supress Features.

- On the right again, select the pattern you want.

- At the bottom, right-click on this icon and select Unsupress Features.

- Right-click on Side A, select Save as mesh, click Ok, select save to my computer and choose a name.
- Do the same for the Side B.
- Voilà! Print the files you just saved.
