This is a reimplementation of @mikiklopsiki's Inky Impression 7.3" frame case model on Thingiverse. It is written in OpenSCAD to allow customizability, but also implements a few changes from the original on its own:
- Significantly tweaked tolerances for a tighter fit on all dimensions
- Changed front frame to hide FPC connector & dead zone at the bottom of the eInk panel
- Extended cutout for GPIO headers to show pin labels on the board's silkscreen
Since the original model didn't provide any 3D source files, this was done purely from measurements and tested on my Bambulab X1C. Tolerances are generally set to 0.3mm throughout the model, though tweaked in a few places I found that they needed it. In general it should be quite easy to tweak if you need to tune it on your printer.
Print settings:
- Layer Height: 0.2mm
- Several vertical tolerances are quite small, printing at 0.2mm ensures they work with the designed heights
- Support:
- Recommended only for buttons, and only if you want the printbed side to face out of the case. If you have a textured bed and want the textured side on the contact face of the button, for instance. If you don't care about button orientation, no support is required if you print the buttons with their larger edge on the bed
- Filament:
- Example photos are printed in JAREES Matte Black PETG, with buttons printed in assorted Hatchbox PETG colors
