This is the TERRAble PC Case. It is based on another case…. I just don't remember the name.  Maybe you do?

# The TERRAble PC Case

It's a mini-ITX case that uses a full-size ATX PSU and accepts a GPU up to 300 mm long.

You will need a build volume of at least 230 x 230 mm to print this case.

## Warning

This case is considered to be an alpha build. You will likely have bad thermals with your GPU if you build it at this time (my Intel ARC A770 is reporting 85°C in game and is very loud). I will be adjusting the design soon to resolve this issue.

If you have a printer that is like mine (with a build plate that is actually 235 x 235 mm), you will likely need to edit the print volume settings in your slicer to change the volume to 235 x 235 mm.

## Print Settings

Material: PETG
Layer height: 0.16 mm
First layer height: 0.20 mm
Perimeters: 2 or 3 (depending on how strong you want the case to be). 3 perimeters will make the connections a bit tighter of a fit.
Solid layers: top: 0, bottom: 0
Brim: outer brim only, brim width: 2 mm, brim separation gap: 0.1 mm
Infill: fill density: 15%, honeycomb
Generate support material: yes
Auto generated supports: yes
Overhang threshold: 20°
Style: snug

For the front wood panel, use wood PLA filament.
Either use a much larger layer height (0.26 mm or so) or use a small amount of fuzzy skin to get a wood-like texture.
Sand with heavy-grain sandpaper and then stain if possible for best look.

## Assembly Instructions

(Video and pictures coming with update of case. Check back soon.)

You will need the following to assemble the case:

- Super glue
- Soldering iron
- Hopefully a friend or partner to assist with assembly
- 8x - M3 threaded inserts: https://amzn.com/dp/B0CC4S7W1S
- 4x - motherboard standoffs: https://amzn.com/dp/B00213KL5I
- 1x - PC power switch: https://amzn.com/dp/B09W9J4QSL
- 1x - PC fan: https://amzn.com/dp/B071W6HJP6
- 14x - 8x3 mm neodymium magnets: https://amzn.com/dp/B0863BGG6H
- 1x screw for the GPU
- 4x thumb screws for the back plate: I recommend just getting this: https://amzn.com/dp/B0B2NWZDBG
(I might be missing some things. Will update soon.)

Once all pieces are printed, follow these steps:

1. Lay the assembled part (LeftMB) down.
2. Slide Top through the half dovetail on the top side (non-foot side) of the piece. (It might be difficult to slide in depending on the condition of your printer. If this is the case, use a piece of sandpaper and sand down the half dovetails on each side of Top, Top(1), Bottom, and Bottom(1).
3. Slide Bottom into the bottom of the assembly.
4. Assemble LeftMB and LeftMB(1) using the dovetails to lock them together. (This might take some effort.)
5. Slide Top(1) into the top of the assembly.
6. Slide Bottom(1) into the bottom of the assembly.
7. Take 3x5 screws and screw them into the standoffs.
8. Using a screwdriver, use a fair amount of pressure and screw the standoffs into the motherboard mount screw holes. You will need to push down decently hard while doing this. (I might change to threaded inserts later. Tell me what you want in the comments.)
9. View from the side and ensure that the standoffs are level with the plastic, without being too tight. (You'll know if it is too tight, because it will be stripped.)
10. Remove the screws from the standoffs and lay the mini-ITX motherboard on standoffs. Insert and tighten screws.
11. Using a soldering iron, insert the threaded inserts into the two top holes in Top.
12. Insert the threaded inserts into the two holes on Bottom.
13. (If using SATA SSDs, insert threaded inserts into the holes in LeftMB(1).)
14. Place GPU in PCIe slot.
15. Place threaded insert into GPU screw hole on Back.
16. Slide in RightMB(1) to the back of the assembly.
17. Slide in RightMB to the back of the assembly.
18. You should now have something resembling a case!
19. Take Back and attach it to the case using the thumb screws.
20. Attach the PC power switch to the front wood panel using super glue and connect it to the motherboard.
21. Attach the PC fan to the front wood panel using super glue and connect it to the motherboard or PSU.
22. Attach the front wood panel to the case using the neodymium magnets.
23. Connect the PSU to the motherboard and GPU.
24. Enjoy your TERRAble PC Case!
