Designed for a friend. The kneeboard in question had a part that controlled the retraction and deployment of the fin; said part had begun to deteriorate. The part was small but crucial to the board's function so it was probably designed with planned obsolescence in mind.
This file was modeled in onshape, and by someone with little experience. The new part is simple and crude but it works and it's free. Dimensions were obtained from the existing part using calipers and some liberties were taken to optimize for FDM manufacturing.
The new part worked well, and the board's owner is pleased to have a functional kneeboard and plenty of spares should another one break.
Printed on a modified CR-10 in PLA. A couple were also made in PETG in case of warping due to heat, but it wasn't an issue. Whatever material you use, print it strong. Ideal orientation for strength and printability is on it's side; it should load in that orientation automatically, the last screenshot may be used as a reference. Supports will be neccessary, apologies. Tolerances don't really matter here, the original part was pretty loose and this one will be too.
