The stock hinges on the Troodon 2.0 only allow the doors to swing 180°. These hinges allow you to fold the doors back against the sides of the printer and out of the way. They're also designed to be easily removable without tools.
There are two versions. One uses the original screws, while the other would require (8) M5 x 12mm countersunk screws (or cut off the originals). This is because the side of the hinge that mounts to the frame no longer uses the included clear spacers. The original screws are too long in this configuration.
You'll need:
- Version with original screws
- (16) M5 x 16mm countersunk screws (original)
- (4) M3 x 35mm (or 30mm) screw for hinge pin
- Version with shorter screws
- (8) M5 x 16mm countersunk screws (original)
- (8) M5 x 12mm countersunk screws
- (4) M3 x 30mm screw for hinge pin
- Both versions
- (8) M5 lock nuts (original)
- (4) M3 washers (optional)
Assembly:
Insert the hinge pin screw into the bottom bracket. It will cut its own threads and be snug. Add a washer between the brackets if desired. The top bracket should slide over the hinge pin easily. Bolt the bottom brackets to the frame (without the clear spacers) and the top brackets to the doors.
The .step files are included in case you want to tweak them.
I turned up the number of perimeters until it printed the brackets solid. Possibly not necessary.
Print two of each bracket, but flip the top brackets so the hinge cylinder rests on the build plate.
