The Cuba “Moola” Spoon
A utensil of interest and intrigue, not only for its unique design but also due to the extraordinary events that surrounded it. In the year 32BBY, this spoon was set before Jabba the Hutt during a festive familial homecoming and in course an unsuccessful assassination attempt by the courageous Twilek Romi Moola.
In a surprising twist of fate, while waiting for his bone soup, Jabba grew restless and threw the Cuba “Moola” Spoon at a nearby attendant who took the full impact to their face. Following this dramatic incident, it is believed that the attendant was in possession of the spoon for some time afterward. What makes this story even more intriguing is that during these events, Jabba's faithful cook tasted the poisoned Chuba stew before serving it to Jabba, ultimately giving their own life as a sacrifice and concurrently the reason why Jabba was having to wait so long on his Cuba Stew.
Notes on Design Elements.
The female face on the back of the spoon is more than likely a likeness of a “Favored Slave” who, I have been informed, was eventually eaten by a jealous member of the Hutt clan.
The concave part of the spoon displays a favored and rare fruit carved in a contemporary stylistic form.
The handle of the spoon displays some local plants as well as varmint that are considered both aesthetically pleasing to look at (cute to the Huttese) and also quite edible.
